An introduction to Literacy in Y6
•    Y6 reading and writing – pitch and expectations
•    End of KS2 Reading test – what to expect and how best to prepare
•    Teacher Assessment of Writing – what to expect; best practice; moderation
•    Engaging and motivating writers at Y6
•    End of KS2 Spelling, punctuation & grammar test- what to expect and how best to prepare

NEW TO YEAR 2 LITERACY – 12th October 2018 (9.30-3.30) – £150

An introduction to Literacy in Y2
•    Pitch and expectations in reading and writing
•    Preparation for the end of KS1 reading – teacher assessment and moderation
•    Preparation for the end of KS1 writing – teacher assessment and moderation
•    (The content of this course will be finalised in September so as to best reflect the current picture)

HANDWRITING COURSE (English Leaders) – 22nd November 2018 (9.30-3.30) £TBC

Draft Programme Content:
Designed for English Leaders, in the context of the statutory requirements and end of Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 expectations in handwriting, this course will examine the rules of handwriting and how best to teach them so that children develop sound handwriting.  As well as briefly covering handwriting issues typically seen and strategies for overcoming them, it will include a session on best practice in the leadership of handwriting.

HANDWRITING COURSE (Teaching Assistants) – 21st November 2018 (9.00-12.00) £TBC

Draft Programme Content:
Designed for Teaching Assistants, in the context of the statutory requirements and end of Reception, Key Stage1 and 2 expectations in handwriting, this course will examine the rules of handwriting and how best to teach them to children who are struggling.  It will also cover handwriting issues typically seen and strategies for overcoming them.
